Pendragon
The Society Journal

Pendragon
is the Journal
of the Pendragon Society, first produced in 1962 it is published
four times a year and includes
articles ranging from the erudite to the general. While it also
includes the occasional original fiction and poetry, Pendragon remains a
journal devoted primarily to Arthurian Studies.
Each issue
is often based around a theme such as Camelot, Grail Castles,
Perceval and Arthurian Beasts or Arthur as seen in different
geographical or historical contexts. Articles, which do not have
to reflect
that issue's theme, average around 2000 words.
The journal
has a worldwide readership, from mainly English speaking
countries but including the UK, North America, Europe, Australia
and Japan. There is no official line and material is not
peer-reviewed, though successful submissions are intellectually rigorous,
and enthusiastic amateurs take their place alongside established
authors, artists and academics.
As well as
lively correspondence pages each issue is profusely
illustrated
and includes news, views, previews and reviews. Original
artwork is featured both on the cover and on inside pages. Old
News examines current developments in Arthurian history
and The Board looks at contemporary popular culture using
Arthurian
themes, from advertising through broadcasts, stage and screen
treatments and on to cartoons, comics and other trivia. There are also
cursory, congratulatory or critical reviews and previews of
books,
journals, films, TV and radio programmes.
