Social Networking has been, and will always be the basis of any business relationship, as seen by the many social Networking sites amongst us today and It is not going away. Years ago, before the advent of the Internet, social Networking was pretty basic. Phone conversations, business dinners, and real live interaction took place, whether it be dinner at Trump Towers or an afternoon of golfing. That is not to say that this is still not happening, of course it is, but now with all of the technological advancements on the “Net” it has never been easier to “meet” with someone and not actually be there.
So what is the point you may be wondering. Because of these technological advancements, we now have the ability to do just about everything that we once did in person, all on the Internet. Saving businesses and individuals alike, time, money, and even stress, because once we save time and money our stress levels will be diminished. Virtual events and expos takes the best from these technological advancements, and puts them together into one platform, so that people can connect, see live Webinars and Web-casts, visit booths, gather information, advertise, seek out business opportunities, and of course chat with one another. What more can you ask for?
So why the term “Social Networking” and not just Networking? Good question. In my opinion Social Networking forces people in a way, to get to know each other much better than just Networking alone. Remember that when people know you, they come to trust you, and that is exactly what we want to happen. This does not mean it should be done as a sneaky tactic of course, but rather getting to know people in a good, ethical, and decent way will eventually bring you the success that you are looking for.
Ask yourself this question… why is Facebook, Twitter, and thousands of other Social Networking sites so popular? My answer is, because they work! People love the idea of connecting on a more personal level, because it reinforces what they think, either about you, about your business, and even about themselves. People also love connecting with like-minded individuals, and if nothing else, there is a sense of empowerment by connecting with people that think like you do. So go ahead, social Network your way to success…It is most certainly allowed, and you will be so glad that you did!
